Free Meals Calendar: Use this meal calendar to find free meals/food pantries in the Portland Metro area

*P-EBT: Pandemic EBT is for those families whose children receive free or reduced lunch at school. This is separate from SNAP benefits. Immigration status does not matter for Pandemic EBT. Pandemic EBT will not count in a
public charge test.

 

HOUSING ASSISTANCE

Home Forward: Services for those at risk of losing their home or in search of urgent housing. They can help with rent assistance and eviction prevention. 

Impact NW: provides a safety net for families in crisis, with services that connect them to housing and energy assistance while supporting them as they move toward independence.

 

 

UTILITY ASSISTANCE

Comcast: 60-day complimentary use of Internet Essentials service which is usually $9.95/month, now with increased speeds. This service is for families of low-income households.

Portland General Electric: Temporarily suspended non-payment disconnection. Contact them for assistance with billing. Payment extensions can be requested 24/7 on their website 

NW Natural Gas: Will not discontinue service to customers who can’t make utility payments due to the impacts cause by COVID-19

Portland Water Bureau: Offers a discount on sewer/stormwater/water bills for income-qualified residents in the Portland service area. Income-qualified homeowners are also eligible for free home water leak repair assistance. Free lead testing kits, water-saving devices, and rebates are also available for all residents in the City of Portland water service area.

SNAP for College Students: Financial assistance for food

Edquity: Provides online emergency support for students during COVID-19 outbreak by providing online access to emergency funding and other resources.

U-Haul– 30-days free storage for college students impacted by campus closure.

Bill Reduction and Energy Assistance: Guide to help students navigate programs offered by utility companies to lower bills to help avoid financial distress.
